About Me

My photo
Justin and I have truly been blessed so much! We were blessed with quadruplets but 2 have became our guardian angels! We know our baby boys, Addison and Levi are watching down, helping God take care of us and Wesley and Cooper. This is the start of our journey so I have decided to make this blog for updates of all of the emotions and excitement that will happen along the way! Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers! Thanks to everyone for all of the congrats.! We are so excited and are thankful to have great family, friends and community that are wanting to help us! No one will ever understand how much it means to us! If it's your first time visiting our blog, start at the bottom and work your way up, or on the right hand side you can look by date.

12 weeks and counting...

We have finally hit the 12 week mark! This is normally the week where people just start telling other's about their pregnancy. Not in my case! I am so blessed that the babies and I have made it to 12 weeks with no problems! We have just 28 weeks to go (if I was to make it to 40 weeks, haha)! Cant believe this, time is flying by so fast! Next week we go to the doctor for our 13 week check up. We will finally get to see how much they have grown and possibly get to see what they are. I think I started to feel a little movement from them last night, but then again I am not sure if it was the babies or something else, seeing that this is my first pregnancy! The nursery is finally coming together, we got all the painting done, besides just touching up a little. Justin got the closets fixed up nice so we have plenty of racks and shelves for all the babies clothes (Im sure it's going to be overloaded)! Over the weekend Justin and I went to Lowe's and picked out some light fixtures to put in the closets as well as the overhead lighting. We had none in the closets and the other light fixtures were a little dated. I finally got to pick out what cribs I want and now I am trying to work on picking out what I want for the bedding. It's a really hard decision only because I have no idea what they babies are yet and I want to make sure the bedding will work for both genders! Not much to add this week but hopefully next week we will have a lot more to add after we go visit the doctor! Thanks everyone so much for your prayers and support so far! It means so much to us and our families! Now time for the 12 week photos!

The ticker keeps ticking!

Well here I am now into my 11th week! The pregnancy is going so great. I love to get online everyday and look at my ticker to see exactly how my babies are growing. I can honestly say I can tell I am growing week by week. Over the weekend Justin and I went with a group of amazing friends and family to the mountains. We were scared to go because we know we need to save money but we thought, "Hey, this might be our last trip before the babies so we better go and enjoy it". That is exactly what we did. We had an amazing time and it was so nice to relax and get away. While some others went to the slopes a couple of us went shopping around to the outlets and to other little local shops. It is so fun to see the expression on peoples faces whenever they hear i'm having quads. A woman that owned a little antique shop we went into (where we spent about an hour because of the amazing jewelry) had never heard of anyone having quads so of course we was so amazed and even wanted me to call her whenever the babies came, haha. I ended up just giving her the website to this blog so she could follow us! Its pretty amazing that people everywhere are so interested in this experience me and Justin are going through.

There was a large amount of board games and other fun things at the cabin to keep us entertained. While the boys were occupied watching the race I pulled out a 750 piece puzzle. My grandpa used to always love doing puzzle so I thought hey, why not, this could be pretty fun! We started it about 8:30 before dinner and everyone joined in to help make it come together and the whole puzzle was done by around 11:00!! Come to find out when it was completed there was quite a few pieces missing, but at least you could tell what it was!! Guess I need to go buy me some puzzle's because thats something that will keep me occupied while on bed rest! Here is a photo after it was all finished!

On Monday, wonderful Valentine's Day, Casey and I went to visit Cassie and her baby boys! They are such good babies! Cassie is such a trusting mother, she left me and Casey who have hardly any experience with newborn babies with the boys while she went to pick up her son, Dylan from school. While she was gone they were soooo sweet! They just let us hold and cuddle on them while sleeping away. It was so precious to watch their little faces while they were dreaming. When Cassie got back, I got to change my first (bitsy baby) diaper. It actually went really well and I was very proud of myself! Cassie and Jared truly have been blessed with two beautiful, precious baby boys and being with them just made me so much more excited for the 4 I am going to have. I hope I will be a trusting and wonderful mother like Cassie. Here's some photos of the boys and of me getting some practice!
Meet Bentley and Brody!--This is me getting some much needed practice with 1 in each arm!

This is Bentley..check him out sucking his thumb through his pacie!

4 Peas in a pod!

We have made it to 10 weeks! Soooo things are still moving along wonderfully! I am still feeling good with no sickness...thank God! We have finally got the nursery all cleaned out with loads of things to send to Goodwill. Now we can finally start buying things and organizing, which I am very excited about! I think Justin is going to start painting sometime this week! We will not know what the sex of the babies are for another 7 weeks so we are going to go ahead and start painting a neutral colors, just in case. I just wanted to be able to help with the nursery a little before I go on bed rest because I know I wont be able to :(.  We are already so anxious for the next doctors visit! It just makes me happy to go, it reassures me that everything is ok.

I got the cutest little present today. Mom came to visit me at work and gave me these cute little rubber babies! They even have hair and 2 of them are sucking their thumbs!

Are they not just the cutest!?! This is probably what size they were last time we went to the doctor at 8 weeks!

I put them in two different bubbles because this is pretty much what it looks like in my belly! I'm sure its very tight in there!

I also wanted to share this cute picture my sister-in-law, Casey drew me! For those of you that are wondering how exactly we have 2 sets of twins this is why. There are 2 sacs with 2 babies in each!

Wanted to give everyone a update on the belly as well! It may look like nothing from the front but boyyy when I turn to the side you can tell! haha It sure is growing fast, sometimes when I wake up in the mornings I can tell I grew bigger overnight!!!

9 weeks and healthy!

We had our 2nd doctors appointment yesterday, January 31st. It went very very well. They found all 4 babies on the US and they all looked so healthy with very strong heartbeats! Baby B was moving around like crazy and it was a little hard for the doctors to get a good picture of him/her. Justin has started to call it baby bad, haha. It was so amazing to see that everything is going good and they are all growing. We couldn't believe that already at 9 weeks we could see them moving around in my tummy. We got to ask the doctor more questions this time, since our last appointment we were in such shock! He told me I would have to go on bed rest, no exceptions, April 18th (20 weeks)! That is going to come sooo soon and we are going to have to get a move on the baby rooms, ASAP!! Good news is the doctor said I probably wouldn't get sick since I haven't been sick so far! That is truly a blessing considering I have to work as much as I can (with breaks, thank God), while I can. The doctor was so excited to see all 4 babies were doing well, he even fist pumped, it was pretty funny! He set us a goal where he wants me to make it to at least 34 weeks! Which will make it right around July 25th. We go back in 4 weeks and i'm sure the babies are going to grow so much between now and then! Thanks so much for all the blessings, and prayers!

Here are the 1st ultra sound pictures! Pay attention to where it says "Baby A, Baby B, Baby C, and Baby D". In these they look like little dots and are a little harder to see. These were taken at 7 weeks at our January 17th appointment.

Here is Baby A and Baby B.

Here is Baby C and Baby D.

Here are the new ones, taken at 9 weeks! You can really tell the shape of the little babies and you can see the full size of them! :)

Sunday Blessings!

It's the Sunday after we found out so we head to church to share our blessings with our church family. Paster Steve gave the announcement and everyone was of course so happy to hear the news. While in the middle of the service, I look down and I notice, I have my dress on backwards! How did this happen? It was too funny and I snuck away to the bathroom to switch it around really quick. When I got up of course everyone in church looked at me and knew exactly where I was going, because every pregnant girl has to use the bathroom quite often! So I kind of got off of the hook with no one knowing except my family that I made a oops with this pregnancy brain of mine! haha. After church was over there was a line a mile long to even get to talk to us for people to give their blessings. It was like we were new members of the church all over again!

It was also the day of Cassie's baby shower. Cassie's one of my employees at the b.hive and she is expecting twins! She is almost 35 weeks along and the baby boys could come at any time! While we are at the shower she gets a lot of great items she was in much need of. Little did we know, she was starting to leak fluid so she called her doctor and they told her to come in as soon as she could because it could be time for them to arrive! The shower finished a little early but that was ok, at least the shower was before the babies arrived! After everyone had left me and my best childhood friend, Ashley sat down and got to talk about a lot of things because we don't get to see each other as much as we should. She started to ask me what names we were thinking of and I told her for the 1st boy (if we have one) Wesley. Wesley is the name of my late grandpa who we were very close to and we know he is watching over us and making sure we get taken care of. Ashley was also close to my grandpa so of course it was an emotional moment and she started to cry! We continued to talk about everything that was about to happen and she gave me some good baby advice as well even though she doesn't have any children. Later that night, Cassie texted me and said she had dilated to a 2 and they wanted to keep her to make sure everything was ok with the progress. We are so excited and can't wait to meet Brody and Bentley.

How are we going to do this?

Everything is still so overwhelming! All of our family and friends are still in shock but they are starting to help us get things figured out. Casey, Justin's sister wrote Oprah and my Casey wrote Ellen, Huggie's and Pamper's to see if we can get some help with the quads! Our friend Laura started a Facebook page for us called "Masencup Quadruplets". It is going to be used for us to keep updates with the babies and on any events that our friends may be planning to help us raise some money. She also started us a bank account at Allegacy where our friends and community can make donations. As the week goes on the news continues to roll around town and people are still calling asking if it is true or a rumor! Everyone is saying they are going to help us in any way, which we are very thankful for. On Wednesday I had a total melt down to Justin. My hormones are going crazy so of course it was bound to happen sometime! My major concern was "how are we going to make house payments, and we have to get rid of this cat!!". By friday someone had called and was willing to take Tiger off of our hands. It's sad that we have to get rid of him, but the cat hair is out of control and because he stays in the room where the babies will be we have to.

He's so sweet and pretty! We are going to miss him!

On Saturday, January 22nd Mom, Casey and I head to Raleigh. Abbey, my cousin had told us about a HUGE consignment sale called the Kids Exchange. It was free for the community and you could get some great deals on all sorts of baby, toddler and children items. It was crazy how much stuff they had at this sale but we took everything in, by taking our time to see what exactly we would need for the babies in their first months. We got some great deals on boppies, and clothes for each gender even though we aren't sure what they are yet. We could have got so much more, but now we know what exactly the Kids Exchange is and will totally be going back! After that we head back to Winston, next stop babies'r'us. We took our time looking through everything we would need and also registering for some 'had to have' items. Finally we found our stroller solution! We found a great double stroller for after they are old enough to sit up on their own, but the good part was we could fold it down to where we could lock in 2 carries on the strollers. So of course we are going to need 2 of those along with 4 carriers. They had bouncy seats and swings on sale so mom was gracious enough to buy me and justin 2 of each. While looking around we ran into Audrey and Jane, 2 of our great friends. They gave us some great tips on what were the best items to get, and they really helped us out a lot. Thank God for friends that have already had babies! While we were shopping Justin called with some wonderful news!! Someone was willing to help us with some house payments! It's a blessing from God and we are so thankful! The 2 major concerns of my meltdown are taken care of, yayyy!
